Often shipping live daphnia can get expensive or getting daphnia during a particular time of the year can be challenging. So, why not try hatching your own daphnia? Shipping is cheap and you can hatch them when you want to. Baby daphnia are tiny and are great for baby fish. As the daphnia grow, they can be self sustaining if well fed. I usually feed my daphnia cultures with green water but you can also feed them cultured daphnia food. They are filter feeders so anything microscopic-free suspending in the water column is usually good.
