Hyalella are similar to the Gammarus shrimps except Hyalella are smaller in size. Both can be kept and bred indoors, are detritivores, and can be kept in a tank with a simple sponge filter, aquarium gravel and some moss. Hyalella are an excellent source of protein especially for conditioning dwarf cichlids, and other insect eating fishes. Each portion of Hyalella shrimp will have 25 shrimps. They range from 3mm to 5mm and are currently being fed flake food.
