This CO2 kit is a cheaper alternative than a pressurized CO2 tank for a steady flow of CO2 for your plants. The amount of CO2 produced is strong enough to work with a glass bell CO2 diffuser and will last much longer than the regular yeast CO2 systems. This kit includes what is shown in the photo and does not include the two 2 liter pop bottles which are needed. Each kit will also include a portion of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate so that it can be used right away.
How the system works: one bottle with have the citric acid while the other will have the sodium bicarbonate. It is important to keep these two chemicals separate and dissolve the dry power with 600ml of water. Once dissolved, screw in each of the pop bottles in the CO2 manifold. Make sure you turn off (close) the needle valve. When you are ready, squeeze the bottle that has the long weighted intake line as this will push up the liquid through the line and into the other bottle. When the two chemicals mix, it will look fizzy and releases CO2. The pressure builds up and once it does, you can turn on the needle valve to release CO2. You may have to squeeze the bottle a few times to build up enough pressure. Once enough pressure is built and you’re using the CO2, when the CO2 pressure drops, the CO2 system will automatically suck the solution from the one bottle and add it to the other bottle to maintain the pressure.
